The Future of Nuclear Power: The role of nuclear power in a low carbon UK economy

This consultation sought views on the information and arguments set out on whether the private sector should be allowed to build new nuclear power stations.

The consultation began on 23 May and ended on 10 October 2007. The Government has carefully considered all the responses it received and has reached a conclusion on the future of nuclear power. Details of this can be found in the White Paper on Nuclear Power published today. A document containing analysis of the consultation responses has been published alongside the White Paper.

Both the White Paper and the analysis document can be downloaded as pdf files (to open these files you need Adobe Reader, which you can download and install for free). The documents can either be downloaded in full, or you can download those parts which are of interest to you by going to the section Documents for download.
